Welcome to the Team, Gary Quarmby | Senior Site Manager

We’re delighted to welcome Gary Quarmby to Octane Construction as our new Senior Site Manager.

With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Gary brings extensive knowledge of site management, commercial construction, groundworks and light civils to the Octane team.

His appointment strengthens our site management capabilities as we continue to deliver high-quality construction projects across the region.

25+ Years of Construction Experience

Gary’s career in construction began as an apprentice bricklayer, giving him a strong practical foundation and first-hand understanding of the demands of working on site.

Over the past 25 years, he has progressed through a variety of roles, developing his experience across site management, project management, construction delivery and groundworks.

This hands-on background has given Gary a detailed understanding of the construction process, from the early stages of site activity through to project completion.

His experience also means he understands the importance of effective communication between site teams, subcontractors, clients and project stakeholders.

Extensive Site Management Experience

Throughout his career, Gary has managed a wide range of construction projects, working across different sectors, project types and site environments.

His experience includes major commercial developments, hotels, supermarkets, offices, schools and youth facilities, as well as projects delivered within live operational environments.

He has managed contracts ranging from smaller developments through to major projects valued at more than £12 million.

This has involved responsibility for coordinating site teams and subcontractors, managing programmes, maintaining health and safety standards, overseeing quality and ensuring projects progress efficiently and safely.

Gary’s broad experience will be particularly valuable as Octane Construction continues to take on increasingly complex construction and development projects.

Experience Across Construction, Groundworks and Civils

Gary also brings extensive experience across groundworks and light civil engineering, supporting a well-rounded understanding of the different disciplines required to successfully deliver a construction project.

From coordinating groundwork activities and subcontractors to managing construction programmes and ensuring work is delivered to the required standards, his experience covers many of the key areas involved in successful project delivery.

His practical background as a former bricklayer also provides valuable insight into the realities of construction on site, helping him effectively manage teams and coordinate different trades throughout a project.

A Familiar Face at Octane Construction

Gary is also no stranger to the Octane Construction team.

Having previously worked alongside Chris Quinn and Alex Maud, Gary already has established professional relationships within the business.

We’re pleased to see those existing relationships continue here at Octane and look forward to Gary becoming an important part of the wider team.

His knowledge of the industry, combined with his previous experience working alongside members of our team, makes him a great fit for Octane Construction.

Gary’s First Major Project at Octane

Gary’s arrival comes at an exciting time for Octane Construction.

As part of his new role as Senior Site Manager, Gary will be taking charge of a major new construction project in South Yorkshire that we have recently secured.

The project represents a significant opportunity for Octane Construction and will be an important addition to our growing portfolio of construction work.

With Gary’s extensive site management experience, we’re looking forward to seeing the project progress under his leadership.
