SUEZ Morden Waste Transfer Centre: Major Construction and Reinstatement Project Completed
One of Octane Construction’s largest projects to date has now been successfully completed, restoring the SUEZ Morden Waste Transfer Centre to full operational capability following a devastating fire in July 2024.
Following the fire, Octane Construction was appointed to deliver the extensive repair and reinstatement of this critical waste management facility. The complex project involved structural repairs, civil engineering works and infrastructure improvements, all carefully coordinated to restore the site safely and effectively.
Extensive Repairs and Structural Reinstatement
The project involved the repair and strengthening of the existing structure, helping to restore the building following significant fire damage.
Works included the reinstatement of concrete slabs and push walls, together with the installation of new structural steelwork. New cladding and roofing systems were also installed as part of the wider building reinstatement programme.
These works required detailed planning and coordination to ensure each element of the facility was restored to the required standards while supporting its long-term operational performance.
Drainage, Fire Protection and Civil Engineering
Alongside the structural works, Octane Construction delivered a range of associated civil engineering and infrastructure improvements.
The project included drainage improvements, helping to support the ongoing operation and resilience of the waste transfer facility. Fire protection measures were also incorporated into the works, alongside other essential site infrastructure requirements.
