STEP ONE
What was the brief?
Leeds Bradford Airport commissioned the design and build of a new car park facility to support DNATA, one of the world’s largest air services providers. The project required a complete civils and infrastructure solution that would deliver high performance, environmental compliance, and long-term operational value. Due to the site’s live airside environment, the works had to be completed with minimal disruption to ongoing airport activities, under tight scheduling constraints and in challenging winter conditions.
The client needed a reliable and experienced contractor who could safely manage demolition, drainage, surfacing, and lighting installations—delivering the project efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

STEP TWO
What did Octane do?
Octane Construction was appointed to deliver the full civils and infrastructure package, acting as principal contractor on site. The works included:
- Demolition of two existing airport structures, including the safe handling and disposal of all associated materials in full compliance with waste and environmental legislation.
- Drainage Installation, incorporating an attenuation tank and hydro brake manhole to manage stormwater flow and mitigate flood risks across the site.
- Kerbing and Surfacing, with complete base preparation, tarmac surfacing, and precise white lining to support bay demarcation and traffic movement.
- LED Lighting Installation across the car park to provide efficient, low-energy illumination and improve site safety.
- The project was delivered through careful planning, phased sequencing, and strong site coordination. Despite the challenges of working during winter and within the constraints of an active airport environment, Octane maintained momentum throughout the programme and completed the works ahead of schedule.

STEP THREE
What was the result?
The DNATA Car Park at Leeds Bradford Airport was completed to a high specification and ahead of the client’s deadline, an achievement made possible through expert project management and close coordination on-site. The finished facility offers a secure, well-organised space that fully complies with modern safety, drainage, and environmental regulations.
Now supporting DNATA’s day-to-day logistics, the site benefits from improved vehicle flow, energy-efficient lighting, and a durable, low-maintenance surface layout. The successful delivery underscores Octane Construction’s strength in managing complex, time-sensitive aviation infrastructure projects with precision, care, and minimal disruption to live operational environments.
We will bring your vision to life!
